Coble Animal Hospital is looking for a friendly, dependable, and compassionate Veterinary Receptionist to join our team! As a veterinary receptionist, you'll be an important part of creating a welcoming experience for our clients and providing support to our veterinary team.

• Is comfortable with computers and learning new software
• Is dependable, positive, and a team player
• Can multitask and stay organized

Veterinary experience is preferred, but customer service or reception experience will also be considered.

Pay & Schedule

• Pay: $16–$19 per hour, based on experience
• Full-time, 40 hours per week
• Work location: In person in Springfield, IL

Our Veterinary Assistants / Patient Service Representatives work alongside our veterinarians in the care of every patient. From initial evaluations to surgical support, you'll be a hands-on part of our medical team while also communicating with pet owners and keeping patient records up to date.

What You'll Do

• Perform initial evaluations of each patient's condition
• Clean and wrap wounds, check vital signs, and collect samples
• Administer medications
• Perform basic lab work, including urinalysis and blood tests
• Assist with procedures such as teeth cleanings
• Help during patient examinations and surgical procedures, including restraining animals when necessary
• Stock examination and surgery rooms, sterilize tools, and make sure equipment is in working order
• Communicate with pet owners and update patient files

Qualifications

• Veterinary or veterinary technician experience
• Dog and animal handling, including animal restraint
• Knowledge of veterinary and dental terminology
• Knowledge of animal anatomy and physiology
• Animal catheterization
• Pet care, kennel, and animal husbandry experience
• Veterinary critical care experience
• Laboratory experience
• X-ray expertise

Pay & Schedule

• Pay: $17–$20 per hour
• Full-time, 40 hours per week
• Some weekends as needed
• Work location: In person at 2525 East Sangamon Avenue, Springfield, IL
